The Morrian was the Celtic Goddess of War and Battle. I have her carved in Lime with hair stained in a Celtic red on a Black Oak panel with her name carved below in old Gaelic Mór-rígan. The carved feather represents her ability as a shape shifter to transform into a jet black crow. She was also known as the Crow Queen.

Every year I get to play with lots of chain saws for Husqvarna at the Ploughing Championships. I like to do a couple of large pieces in the arena. These were 2015’s. The Morrigan and a Green Man.

I was commissioned by Westmeath Co Council to design and carve this condemned Ash tree. The design centres around the local legend of King Malachy and the Viking chieftain Tuirgesius.
