Mide and The First Flame

Richard Clarke 13 October 2019

The Mide was the chief Druid of the people of Nemed who lit the first fire at Uisneach, from which all other chiefs fires were lit.  Mide’s fire is said to have burned for 7 years.  He is carved from Irish Lime, his staff is of Oak and the sacred flame is carved from Irish Yew.
